The Baronial Dissection Waltz
(with apologies to “Waltzing Matilda”
Once a jolly Baron divvied up his barony,
Scattering land bits hither and yon;
And he sang as he drank and shredded up official maps,
“Here’s a little land for you and all the rest for me!”

Chorus:
“All the rest for me! All the rest for me!
A little land for you and you’d better be happy!”
And he burped as he sang and shredded up official maps,
“A little land for you and all the rest for me!”

Suffice to say his cantons didn’t like the boundary,
And scattered the baron’s bits hither and yon.
And they sang as they drank and shredded up his cotehardie,
“Here’s a land that’s good for us, with nothing left for thee!”

Chorus:
“Nothing left for thee! Nothing left for thee!
The land’s returned to us and now we are happy!”
And they burped as they sang and shredded up his cotehardie,
“The land is good for us, with nothing left for thee!”
