Northlander
(may be sung to the tune of "Tramp Miner" by the Rankin Family)

I am a Northlander, I bear the Wolf standard
I've borne it with pride all my days
I travel the world with my banner unfurl'd
Singing the Ealdormere lays
For the Wolf cry abroad I would raise

CHORUS:
And a song eases the way
Oh, a song eases the way
A song from my homeland eases the way
And I'll follow that song to the end
It may lead me back home once again

I come from the Bear's den, I'd been there for years when
I heard the road call me away
Though I'm driven to roam far away from my home
I will follow my heart back one day,
for in Ealdormere I'm bound to stay

CHORUS

I've slept on the ground, in the best inns in town and
The humble home of a dear friend
Though I wander apart they are dear to my heart
And I know that I'll see them again
And make new friends around the next bend

CHORUS

On foot or by horse I have followed my course
As the sun does in it's daily flight
Though I never stay long, I know where I belong
In the land where the north star shines bright
And the cry of the Wolves fill the night

CHORUS

And a song eases the way
Oh, a song eases the way
A song from Dear Ealdormere eases the way
And I'll follow that song to the end
It will lead me back home once again
