Colyne's Lullaby
April 24, 2002

O lay down your head now

and rest ye your sword

Though tomorrow the war’s come

this night you’re my lord

So lay by the fire

the bed clothes are warm

Stay here beside me

and hold me till morn

The fire’s grown dim now

light heralds the dawn

You’ve rose from my comfort

and soon you’ll be gone

I kiss you for sharing

this night by my side

I pray that by evening

you’ll come home with pride

I watch you march forth now

aware you may die

In my heart I am singing

my love’s lullaby
