The Cork Song
July A.S. XXXVII (2002)

Oh wouldn't it be grand to be a Cork

There's really naught in life that can compare

A cork can hold your messages

Or stopper up your wine

A cork can save your eyeball from a pointy-ended tine

Oh yes it would be grand to be a Cork

There's really naught that I would rather be

A cork can make a bullseye stick

Or even float your boat

A cork can jazz the orchestra and mute a trumpet note

Oh I'd be aweful proud to be a Cork

There's really naught a truer thing to say

For if there'd never been a cork

LIfe wouldn't be the same

Why, there'd be no fizzy POP! when you open the champagne!

Oh wouldn't it be grand to be a -

Wouldn't it be grand to be a -

Wouldn't it be grand to be a COORRRRK!

POP!
