For Cynred and Gaerwen
August 19, 2002

How can I put into words what I feel for my Baron and Baroness?

Those two, who are so much a part of the Barony I love,

A land comprised of people, so much more so than geography alone

Who with their devotion have shaped the Heart of Ealdormere

Inspired such loyalty and dedication in their followers

Led by great example and showed us how to ensure the game was fun

Now approaches fast the time when a parting must occur

How can I separate that which is to me one entity

See them separate from the land they embody?

How can I say good-bye?

Forgotten, they shall never be for they live on within our hearts and minds

Songs and memories

I ask, can any other Barony boast of a love

Like the love Septentria holds for it’s Baron and Baroness?

I’ve seen no evidence of it

I thank them for their service, their leadership, their friendship

For love and for honour, courage and duty

And devotion to the people

I am a Bard of Septentria, made by their own hands

I have laid mine upon the Sword and sworn my oath in my own words

And heard their answer, worn their Iron, served by their side at War

How can I put into words what I feel for my Baron and Baroness?

I have not the tongue to do so, nor the quill with which to pen it

But my heart knows the words and speaks them to me

In a language all Septentria understands

A language all our hearts speak

And I know, that it’s enough
